Why DCC?

Why Dobler College Consulting?

What we believe

College is a match to be made, not a prize to be won, and therefore students should not restrict their search to trying to find that one perfect match. Done right, the college search should focus on how a great outcome is about the right match, not just the biggest name.

While many Dobler College Consulting students are great matches for some of the most selective colleges in the country, each student deserves the opportunity to find the colleges that fit them well. It is our goal to help them do just that by staying engaged, making thoughtful decisions, and avoiding the common mistakes that lead to stress and missed opportunities.

What we do

With nearly 4,000 colleges and universities in the United States, the college admissions process can become rather stressful and overwhelming. The tasks are endless: researching colleges, planning and preparing for tests, writing essays, completing applications, filling out financial aid forms – there is always something to be done. As independent college advisors, our role is to remove the stress from the process and help students stay engaged, make thoughtful decisions, and move forward with confidence through what should be one of the most memorable experiences of their lives. We empower our students and challenge them to own their college search focusing on fit - academic, social and financial, rather than on brand names or meaningless rankings.

How we do it

While every student’s path to college is different, one thing is the same: it is a student centered process. The student should be the one doing the work and making decisions while we provide clarity, structure, and thoughtful guidance. We make no guarantees of admission to any college. What we do is help families think clearly, act intentionally, stay accountable and make better decisions across the entire process.

Dobler College Consulting adheres to the ethical principles set forth in the IECA Principles of Good Practice. As long-standing members of IECA, we feel that it is incredibly important that ethics and honesty drive the decision-making process.

Who we work with

The students we work with sometimes have taken five AP courses, sometimes none. They are athletes, budding artists, and musicians. Sometimes they have flawless GPA's and other times they think they are just “average” and may not have many college options. Ultimately, we work best with students and families who:

1. Want a thoughtful, structured approach

2. Value guidance and perspective

3. Want their student to be engaged in the process

4. Are looking for financial value

While we prefer to start working with students in their sophomore year, what is most important is that we start working together when the student is ready to fully invest themselves in the process.

What you can do about it

The process feels overwhelming because most families don’t have a clear structure. If you have any concerns at all about the level of support and guidance your son or daughter will receive as they embark on one of the biggest decisions of their lives, you should contact us below for a FREE consultation. Other families have, and they'll tell you just how much of a difference Dobler College Consulting has made for them.
